All Poetry - Snapshot of a Life in Rhyme
6 female, 2 male
A black comedy set in one living room.
An old friend who has become a major TV star in America comes to visit a family with wonderful news of a windfall for their mother. However miscommunications and a bad first impression cause chaos to ensue. Can the feuding family find a totally original way to heal the wounds and ensure they receive their money? You bet they can and you will never guess how.
6 female, 5 male but 3 males can be gender swapped easily.
A comedy requiring minimal set. A simple office set up, a bedroom, and a radio studio.
Bear Shaw is a poet in the doldrums. His career rock bottom until, with the help of his unscrupulous agent, he is offered a spot on a national radio poetry competition. Fame and fortune is on offer but to succeed he must find his true voice, but seeing as his most famous poem is about his neighbour’s dog barking at night and consists of repeating the word woof eighteen times he could be in trouble.
6 female, 2 male
A comedy set in an old abandoned house, containing a room with a trapdoor.
A ladies walking group are being led by an inexperienced volunteer who gets them lost. To avoid the bad weather they seek refuge in an old house. Unbeknown to them two criminals hid their stash of cash in the cellar and having escaped prison they are returning to collect it. The comedy lurches from seriously Tarantinoesque to tranquil buffoonery.
This easily my most requested play.

1 drunken vicar - ungendered.
A comedy in black set in a living room, around a large table, where the wake is being held.
The widow is being comforted by her family and being constantly disturbed by mourners with questionable intentions. Trying to work out exactly how her husband passed away in a car accident she is given a sign from the other side. Is it Dennis trying to tell her something? The only way to find out is to bring in weird Uncle Leonard and his Ouija board.
6 female, 3 male
This black comedy is set in a living room.
It is a reflection of life and relationships and the unseen spaces between people, whether in family and friendships or in remembering events and how society’s rules can be perceived differently. A married couple, content but slowly drifting apart, at least have their teenage daughter coming home from university for a surprise visit. She’s even bringing her new boyfriend. The only problem is he’s in his fifties.
This is a retelling of the famous story, with new fresh twists and lots of familiar characters on board, (including a pantomime horse).
Originally written as a celebration of 50 years for Clifford Drama Group it is easily adapted into a nonspecific story and performance. It involves the dame having failed to write a new panto so various characters arrive to offer their help. Imagine Avengers Assemble with Genies, Bears, Darth Vader and a talking dog.
The audience themselves are part of the crew as we set sail on the high seas. Captain Nobeard has plans to collect the buried treasure with his untrained crew, meaning hilarious maritime mirth and catchy songs to join in with, with lots of sea-n changes, visual gags, and a classic dame character playing the ships cook called Madam Hot Wings von Pizza de Kebab.
The Queen of Hearts incredibly yummy birthday jam tarts have gone missing. Join the Knave and many other characters as they set off in search of them. Time is fast running out for Incy-Wincy Spider and all the Kings men as they turn up in other characters nursery rhymes while hunting the missing tarts. All the time the Queen is getting hangry, and you wouldn’t like her when she’s hangry.
